This increase highlights Norway's extending reliance on foreign furniture manufacturers, with exports remaining notably lower at approximately 3.1 billion Norwegian kroner and accounting for about 17 percent of the country's imports. Furthermore, China stands as the dominant supplier in Norway's furniture market, with imports valued at over 3.2 billion Norwegian kronor. The furniture manufacturing market has shown notable growth, increasing from nine billion Norwegian kroner in 2019. Out of this revenue, kitchen furniture generated the highest revenue of furniture manufacturing with 2.3 billion, followed by office and shop furniture with 2.1 billion Norwegian kroner.The Norwegian furniture industry is adjusting to a changing business climate, with projected revenues declining for most categories and the dominating import trade changing from neighboring countries to that of China.
