People have been grilling meat, fish, and vegetables since the dawn of mankind, and studies show that this is not about to change, as the global revenue of the roaster and grill industry has been continuously growing and is expected to reach almost 8.3 billion U.S. dollars by 2030. Regional differences can be observed, as in 2024, North America dominated the market, with over 4.2 billion U.S. dollars in revenue. Next up was Asia, with 1.4 billion U.S. dollars, while Europe and Africa both passed over the 300,000 dollar revenue threshold.
Along cooking appliances, the trading of meat has a significant effect on the grilling industry as well. For example, the biggest exporters of pork were the United States and the European Union, both trading around three million metric tons in 2024.

Some of the biggest names in the barbecue scene are Traeger, Weber, Blackstone, and Pit Boss. Traeger, founded in 1985 by Joe Traeger was the first company producing pellet grills, originally fueled by wood pellets. In 2024, Traeger generated a revenue of approximately 325 million U.S. dollars from the sales of grills, more than their other product types, consumables and accessories combined. SharkNinja, most famous of their blenders and air fryers, also sells grills and generated 1.8 billion U.S. dollars in net sales from their cooking and beverage appliances in the same year. The net income of SharkNinja also reached an all-time high in 2024, almost 440 million U.S. dollars.As figures have shown, the grilling and barbecue market continues to be popular among consumers and is expected to grow further in the coming years.
